Thank you to those who have already contributed to our possible Mexico Mission! While we are collecting funds to cover transportation, training, and meals for this trip, Carrie is preparing resources for professional development.

We currently do not have enough funding to cover transportation and are still in need of approximately $1000. We are quickly running out of time to purchase tickets and make arrangements to get there (the trip is slated for March 25 – April 1, 2023), so your help will be much appreciated!

Carrie is planning one week of professional development training for the teachers and administration at Lion’s Heart Academy. Each day, Carrie will observe the teachers in their classrooms and provide after school training. On the last day, Carrie will provide several hours of training in teaching strategies, English Language Learning strategies, and classroom management. She will also provide leadership training to the leaders of the building.

This partnership will also be made between DeKalb High School and Lion’s Heart Academy. Students from both schools will be meeting virtually to practice their English and Spanish speaking skills.
