Quite a few years ago, my husband and I discovered a company that was not only top quality, but was making a significant difference in the lives of their employees. Saddleback Leather not only offers AMAZING products AND a 100 year warranty for their products, but they are actively impacting the lives of others through and with their company – and a sister company, Love 41.

In 2015, the owners, Dave and Suzette Munson, opened a FREE day care for the children of their employees at their factory in Mexico. This not only impressed my family, but also continued to draw my own family to their company. During 2020, I felt prompted to reach out to Suzette and let her know that I was praying for them.

At that time, she shared her heart with me and let me know they were planning to open a SCHOOL, and in their own words, felt God directing them to help their employees in a deeper and more life changing way through a private American school in Mexico. They named the school Lion’s Heart Academy.

A few weeks ago, I once again felt prompted to reach out to Suzette, letting her know that my educator’s heart was praying for their school and for their mission. After learning more about Lion’s Heart Academy, I spent some time in prayer with my family.

I felt a deep desire to help in whatever way I can, so I offered my 24 years of education and leadership experience. I have always had a passion for training and equipping teachers, so I offered those services to Suzette and to the school through Zoom on a weekly or monthly basis. I sent Suzette my resume and information – letting her know what services I offer, and she was EXCITED!

I began pulling together all of my past and present professional development materials as well as connecting with a few teachers I know who could add some of their own expertise for this K-12 school.

The big ask, however, was for me to come in person and do the training – because their culture likes face to face. So, I am currently planning a week of training with my new friends at Lion’s Heart Academy in Mexico!
